ABOUT LOLO

Our History

Lolo Coffee was born with my great-grandfather, José Dolores Gómez (also known as Lolo) when in 1940 he began buying coffee in Sevilla, Valle del Cauca with his brother, Gregorio. Later, in 1961, he decided to move to Manizales, Caldas, where in 1979 he built the Gómez coffee processing plant. 

Lolo’s initial focus was on purchasing coffee from producers in the Caldas and Valle del Cauca regions for subsequent commercialization. In the 1970s, with the support of my grandfather and his siblings, Lolo began a process of internalization with the construction of a mill and the export of coffee. Since then, as a family business, we have been dedicated to the production, processing, and commercialization of green coffee. Over time, the passion for coffee has passed on to the third and fourth generations of the family. 

Today, our purpose is to continue Lolo’s legacy, bringing the best of Colombian coffee, its culture, and its history to all Colombians and the rest of the world with transparency, joy, and supporting those around us to keep growing.
